met a guy who bred those big black ones you get at the coast.

just he used a bulb in a bucket to heat the containers with eggs, somehow top down heating worked better then heat-pads.

plenty cheaper then R1 a cricket. and apparently the black ones grow very fast too.

only roaches i have are hissers... its an expensive meal.

I would say you people are lucky to pay R15 for a tub... i pay R80 for 1/2 crickets  and i think there are around 30 or so in them. I would love to start my own colony but i dont manage to get them to breed :pinch: . They mostly eat each other even when i supple food. :S

Hi Guys

Me and a friend started breeding crickets, Turkistan Roaches and Madagascar hissing roaches. We build a small factory and it is pretty much pest friendly. Good news are the roaches are going ballistic and we are breeding huge colonies. We also bought crickets from "Crickets for Africa" and tend to find fruit flies or other pests on them, which you don't want to feed your T.

Any case that is not my point, we are waiting on two retired females who have Bachelor degrees in Entomology behind their names and they bred different species and kinds of insects for different countries, and they will give us advice on our cricket breeding facility. We will sell to any person but our main target is petshops. Breeders do get discount and you would be able to open an account with us. I will keep you guys posted as I feel the retired entomology females will give us great advice, on our breeding setup, but I will let you all know.

PS: We will be cheaper than any other supplier, and will be able to supply you with crickets that has just hatches in case you have new small T's to feed. Flightless fruit flies will also be available in tubes for those who breed loads.

Will keep you all updated.

PS: All feeder insects will come with a small bag of food, specially made with the help of the two retired females, and some advice on to keep your feeder insect alive for longer. I hope this will help those in the near future.
