i used to be really scared of these spiders, not so scared but like Hetero said - I also get a fat skrik when a come upon them. something to do with their stance and how fast they are.
@ Ceratogyrus I think I should get one of these for my first shot at breeding a spider :woohoo:

It looks like a wolf spider, once had one climb down my
windscreen while driving, never the less I slammed on brakes
grabbed the nearest receptacle to put him in and carried on
driving - everyone on the highway must have thought I was a
little nuts. His length was also about 15cm. when I got to a
suitable spot I let him out. I thought he was gorgeous.

Wolf spiders (Lycosidae) dont get that big, so obviously a rain spider.
Common names even stuff up true spiders.
