Not a very wise idea bud, why not boil the wood and then place it in an oven to dry properly? Heat kills everything.

i mean that i threw it away for good. there's no wood involved. it's clay.

here's a video

it has now, it seems progressed to where the T is moving more slowly.
Either that or it simply got "tired" as tarantulas tend to do rather quickly.

It is quite discouraging to see it struggle like this.

Ok had a look at video, not that im an expert on this at all but it doesnt look like DKS to me. If it is it might be the very early stages there of. The T's walk is irregular but not alarmingly so. Its threat response is good and it is able to sit still with out moving. From what I have seen DKS T's move there legs in rapid disorganized movements. There is no coordination and the T will fall over more often than not. Your T is not showing rapid random leg movements, it still moves the legs in the correct sequence from what I can tell. It might have slight poising from the ornament but cant say for sure.

I think keep it in an ICU for a week and don't disturb it too much. But I dont think its DKS unless very early stages.

I wish Stan would read this and give his opinion.

What I have done in the past is move the effected spider with DKS to smaller container, with substrate and nothing else but substrate.
And moved them to a cool dark place.

The cooler environment seems to help them.

Thanks a lot for the help. i will keep her/him in an icu and undisturbed environment.
yesterday after the vdeo excercise, when i placed it back in the encl it just fell on it's side
and back and kept lying there like a dying spider without any energy at all! i had to help it back up and after about 10 minutes it started moving again.

update

Something even worse happened now.
about 6 days ago it had stopped "prancing" and falling over the place, it seemed more relaxed. so i took it out of the icu, and as
I took it out the T bolted and fell back in the icu. it was only about a 5-10cm drop, and it lost a leg. i couldn't understand how it could have happened so easily, it must have been really weak or something.
Anyway then I panicked a bit and cursed myself for moving it and though it was going to die, because there was a lot of haemolymph coming out.
I reckoned there was no way it was going to dry in the wet icu so I made LOTS of holes in the sides of the icu right on the level where the spider sits so it would ventilate. The icu is about 8cm, the T is about 5-6cm. between the T and the walls of the icu I put lots of tissue so it couldnt hurt itself. on the bottom I put tissue so it couldnt hurt itself.
it seems better now. this t is in pre molt. i dont know if it's going to survive it, but it's been through a lot in the last 3 weeks!

I put the T back in old enclosure, and it molted almost immediately. And successfully! :)
It's leg movements looks very natural/fully restored to me, but I have noticed that there seems to be
something wrong with the claws. I dont know if this is new, or "left over" from before.
It gets stuck to rough objects and can not release. Almost like an old cat on a carpet.

There is only soft peat in the enclosure and about 7cm climbing space, so it can not injure itself and get "stuck".
