Shame Cascade, this really sounds like one hell of an ordeal, how is your heart rate, blood pressure etc? Did you keep tabs on them at all?

I have not thought that far, but I think I will post it in one or two of the other forums.
After I have completed my ordeal.

I did not keep track of any of my vital signs.
But the doctor did keep me behind for 2 hours for observation. Where she checked my blood pressure, my heart rate and listened to my breathing.
They wore all normal, the Doctor was a bit worried to let me leave, with out making sure I was not going to die!

I have some medication for water retention, the swelling has come down allot.
The Doctor said if it swells again then I need to come in and they will do tests.

I have had this species 3 times before, but they always seemed to die on me!

Thanks for sharing this valuable info. Your bite really sounds bad and lots of nasty after effects. Everything I read seems to indicate that the featherleg bite is potentially the worst of all t bites. The only view to the contrary mentions the togo starburst as the worst. Either way you got the worst or a very close relative. Please keep us posted as to symptoms days and weeks after the bite.
PS your symptom recordings are extremely good and I am sure would be greatly appreciated by the American Tarantula Society who are documenting as much information as they can get on t bites especially the medically significant ones.

Well beleave it or not 3 weeks later, there is still a bit of stiffness, and small hints of muscle fatigue.

I have been keeping track of the days, have not kept a 100% accrued record.
As the spasms, cramps wore far and few between, after the 6 day.

I think every one is different and will react differently to a spider bite and its venom.
Watching and seeing how Robc reacted to he's pokie bite, that looks far more worse than my bite was.

Cascade, I really hope you get well soon. I don't think anyone could understand constant cramps until you go through it yourself. I have a S calceatum, at the moment s/he is about 7/8cm's and I want to re-home it and I knew for a long time that I am on my own on this venture as the other people here are too freaked out and I do not need that kind of help. The T is very nervous and hides as soon as s/he sees any movement, at first that sounds fine; but thinking about it just tells me: nervous spider will defend itself if it feels any inkling of a "threat" which equals ME. So now I have to master plan nicely on how to move my poor dear tarantula on to a new better cleaner home. On another related note though; what would be the reason for the S calceatum and H maculata to be so venomous when considering other tarantulas. Anyone out there have an idea. Does anyone have H maculata slings, mine died last week for unknown reasons and that was really crap. I really loved my little grey featherduster speck of a sling.
