I have bought from Builders, Spar, Pick n Pay.
Anyone else used this before that has the name on hand?

We also use blue death. However living on a plot we target the nests, and I also pour the powder around the house containing my tarantulas. Flooding also works. I once had the most exiting opportunity to crank open a bottle of propane with a killer howling flame. I torched the entire colony of migrating ant "the big ones", I think I might have enjoyed it a little to much. Needless to say the ants was crispy/powder and so was some weeds, branches, grass .... well you get the picture. :)

I also used both the ant traps and the chalk but not one worked for me.

I guess it has to to with the magnitude of your ant problem

I had almost my entire roach colony destroyed a few weeks ago and went crazy with this chalk drawing imaginary lines around my room and the window frames. No ants have returned so far.

This seems so familiar

They are sneaky little buggers with a never say die attitude :S

I found with the chalk that they sacrifice a couple of fellow comrades until they have broken a section through the chalk line and then they really go ape shit

I normally do my matings rehousings anything that can possibly give an opportunity to a running spider in my bedroom that i try to keep poison free.

I really really hate ants I have had numerous roach and cricket colonies destroyed by ants. Its not a pretty site when you walk into your room and there is a huge black line carrying away bits of roach or crickets :(

I have lost slings, juvies and adult spiders to ants they are viscous creatures with devastation and survival on their minds.

My ant killings have turned more sinister over the years

You get a type of poison that tricks the ants into thinking it food. They carry it to the nest and feed it to their young and queen. Within a few days, the entire colony is dead. Don't ask me what its called though, I have no idea?! The chalk work well, but it only treats the symptoms, not the the problem. Once the chalk line wears off, the buggers are back.
