Curt, I am not man, but happy to see you anyway!!

That is very good name Ceratogyrus, because I keep them now. I buy from friendly man in Germany last time I visit him. He buys from Cape?

I have now from Africa,

Ceratogyrus marshalli two female.
Ceratogyrus sanderi small ones.
Ceratogyrus darlingi
Harpactirella lightfooti
Idiothele nigrofulva but also want Idiothele mira from Africa

My best spider is Poecilotheria smithi. I help my friend to make spiderlings from them.

I have Megaphobema mesomelas and it is difficult to breed her because of no male.

We make baby spiders from breeding Poecilotheria subfusca and Poecilotheria regalis to see if they can look better.

We have cold weather now, maybe in June when the year change. Thank you.

Welcome...

did I read correctly?

you cross breed Poecilotheria subfusca and Poecilotheria regalis?

if this is so, not that it'll make any difference to whether you actually do or do not, but PLEASE DON'T! The hobby does not need ANY hybrids.

Welcome kind lady!

That is an awesome collection, I would love to know where in the Cape you are buying your Ceratogyrus please? Will be better if you send me PM (private message).

Poecilotheria Smithi is also a beautiful spider. We would love to know more about breeding Poecilotheria species... especially P.metallica as we are trying very hard here.

Welcome again :)

Thank you. I find my spiders from Germany. My friend told me Cape, but many Capes in the planet not true? I will not be sure how he buys the spider but I buy from him.

I find four specie in one nest in India. We are sure they breed with each other in wilderness. If I breed them in my home, there is not difference. The hobby in Europa is very huge. We try make sure what we do and make spider keeping better. In small hobby, it is dangerous to mix species and not be honest. We are honest and tell.

Poecilotheria metallica is pretty spider and a little difference from others also. My friend in Germany breed them, but will not show me now. He is sure he will show me one day.

I go sleep now, it is good to talk to you all. Thank you.

Wow some interesting breeding projects there. I think hybridising is not a bad thing as long as (like you say) it is done responsibly.
Good to have some overseas members on the site.
Maybe one day you can ask your friend to send some spiders to us, seen as we are sending spiders to your country. :)

Thank you. I want to ask hann01what dog or cat or ass you have. Did you collect them from the wilderness? In Germany they make a dog from wolves long time ago and we have German Sheppard dog. It is better than a wolf for working no? My father make more milk because he breed with many cows. My mother has more eggs because she use many cocks. We want better spiders to see, but we say it is a new spider to our friends. I think one day we can have many special new spiders from breeding some species together, but is true, we must be open and say to our friends. Is not bad.

Ceratogyrus, we get them from Germany, not to our country. I will get Pterinochilus murinus next week or after next week. I think they are collected from the wilderness in Uganda. They fly direct to Germany. I will ask my friend if he can send you something. He has many names of people from there wanting something. I can write names here and someone can say yes or no if they want. Thank you.

The cross breeding with T's subject is fragile at best.

I think cross breeding should be left to very controlled and planned environment. With a board of many people.

The thing is there are 2 sides to this. Yes I agree a German Shepard is an amazing dog and yes it is better at working to some degree. But personally I think a wolf looks better, stronger and pure. Cross breeding can go well and produce wonderful species but also really bad ones. And ones nature starts moving it cant be stopped and the next thing you know there is no such thing a s pure Poecilotheria subfusca to be found anywhere. That will be a very sad day. I like the Poecilotheria subfusca just the way it is. I have several Pokies and that is my favorite one.

Can we make it look better? It is reasonably docile do we want to make it more aggressive? My Alice is pure and beautiful and I don't want her to be anything but just that.

Its like Having a green Grammostola rosea  IT might look more colorful but would it still be a Grammostola rosea? no it would be a Grammostola green bush hehehehe.

I am all for new and exiting species but there are Consequence. How would we know what we getting? Problem already exists with Avics... and think about this Avics are very fragile and die of things like "Avic sudden death syndrome" Its genetics gone wrong and cross breeding that failed. The result is an amazing T that may look awesome but dies for no reason.

just my thoughts and in no way dissing any one :) We all have our opinions
