Be sure you use the correct one Visser. If you Google "Hen and Chicks", you might find info on some succulent from Usbeckistan. The one you want is described HERE .

It can be found in almost any garden, more so in gardens of lodges, public play areas, out door rest rooms and so on. We got home from a bike trip once, only to find about twenty of these plants have somehow climbed into our luggage. Fascinating in itself...

It has been months since I have seen any of the babies. I do see the female from time to time.

This morning, they were frolicing outside with their adopted mother. I counted nine, but I'm sure one sling was somewhere out of view. This truly excites me because in principal it seems that M balfouri will adopt young from another female. This will probably never happen in the wild, but it gives me some indication that slings can be given to surrogate mothers should the biological mother meets ill fate.

They have grown tremendously well...
