On the wooden lids thing, I found that if one uses plywood instead of solid pine it tends not to warp. It's due to the grain of the wood wich in plywood cancel each other out. Plus plywood can be finished of much nicer than presswood wich most people using wood lids make use of.
But I do like your glass lids tough, expesialy with the BIG communial enclosures it provides for better viewing.

I imagine Shakou is telling his friends in the UK some rather interesting stories of a 8m M. balfouri communal in SA that will no doubt create a surge of new forum members from that part of the world.
Indeed I have, just a select 2 though as no one else seems to be in for the win with these yet. I read through most of this last night and the other thread the gentleman has posted recently but I fear I missed parts so will go through it again. It truly is a beautiful species for it's nature and the way they look after their young. I'm just really eager to learn more about them
Thanks for the detailed reply my friend. It helps quell some of my reservations regarding this issue. I still feel apprehensive but then this will continue to be the case until they are settled.
The one I have at home already I suspect is also from the same source so it will be another worthwhile thing to look at as they will have been separated for a few months now. Fingers crossed!
