Volume for volume between a milked T and one thats bitten you.... I highly doubt venom changes between the two.

Heh, honestly, neither do I. So im not saying it is so Perhaps someone else knows more about this than I.

If this is going to be done, I am going to get in touch with the relevant societies to inform them of the experiment, and I am also going to do my best to get in touch with national geographic / NGWild and inform them of what we are doing. They may even have expertise to help us with this sort of thing and might land up as a show on their channel. +1 for RSA! Fair enough reward wouldn't you say?

This is why I say, we need to get a dedicated team of people that want to do this, and we do it properly. Medical check-ups, disclaimers, the works.

So - If you want to get bit/haired, please PM me, and lets start putting together a team and a way of executing this study with some decent effort. I would say we need at least 3 test volunteers for the urticating hair study, and 6 for the bite study. If someone decides to pull out, or has such drastic symptoms that he/she can no longer continue, then he/she is free to stop and if anyone wants to take up the position they may do so but will have to start from the beginning.

Mandie, if you are keen, this thread of yours is what spawned my idea, so let me know if you want to start working on this with me and lets see what we can achieve. Anyone who just wants to be on the team to assist, take pics do video etc, let me know.

Hey I would have no problem with the Hairs but the only specimens I have are too small for the Experiment.

DO NOT USE YOUR OWN T's.

We will find people with specimens that can be used to donate bites and urticating bristles.

Actually this is a call to some of our more senior members or avid collectors, if you would be willing to donate bristles from some of your mature specimens (bristles are removed easily and gently from the rump using a soft paintbrush).

Please PM if you are feeling up to the cause.

I think a definite is the Theraphosa Blondi, it's urticating bristles are apparently the worst.
