OBT's have been outlawed for the mere fact that they can and will invade and cause havoc with our local species, not to mention the fact that hybridisation would most likely occur.

Now I ask you, what happens to the local species once they've been hybridised?

The pure blood is gone for good.

This goes for corn snakes, and burmese pythons and any other exotics irresponsible and reckless keepers release into the wild!

It is because of such keepers that the rest of us take flack, that NatCon has their hands full, and that our hobby can be outlawed!

Slasher i think you are Clueless to the problems that face T keepers in trying to get the hobby legalized. If you get any sutch spiders please do not release into the wild!!! mesage one of the more senior members in this forum and i recon they wil be willing to take the problem of your hands and it to knowledgable people with permits!

Yes keeping ANY LOCAL BABOON SPIDERS IS ILLEGAL DEF NOT A GOOD THING TO DO! Releasing it is also not a good idea, BUT I think instead of throwing our hands up and acting as if we are the spider police and getting all up in peoples grills, rather be polite and nice and inform the person KINDLY, I think acting as a know it all DEF chase new people away from the hobby NOOBS and PROS... This is a hobby not an elitist cult it’s a fun thing to do very rewarding hobby!!

Slasher my love, would you be so kind and please not advocate the release of Orange Baboon Tarantulas into our fragile little environment? It is a brain dead suggestion and although you meant well, us loving Tarantula community would not like love making between strange Usambara Spiders and our own indigenous critters. We are petrified at the thought of more bastards running a mock, we have enough of that already. We acknowledge your freedom of speech, but we don't like the contents all that much... I hope you are not angry with me now as I only want the best for all of us...
