So it is all over...

May I take it upon myself to thank all those who made this WAY better than last year, a truly memorable day in the Tarantula calendar.

Special thanks must go to co host Fangs, his dear wife and dad!! Those Boeries and drinks were a life saver. Also special mention and thank you to Ceratogyrus and his sweetheart, Hendrijs, my sweetheart Frootbat, Cenotaph, PinkT and Dimitri !!

No accurate totals are available yet, but an estimated 800 spiders found new homes !! Thanks to those who bought, and thanks to those who brought spiders for sale. This is the essence of an auction!!

Positives.
A lot more people attended the auction in comparison to last year.
Nice pictures of spiders on auction were displayed.
It was not as hot as last year.
General program ran smoothly.

Negatives.
Payment and delivery to slow.
Spiders were stolen from the tables.
The care taker of the church is/was an utter arsehole.

We will improve again next time !!

Please post your views/opinions/experiences!!

Thanks again to all involved!!

Most people are like clouds. The sun comes out when they f*ck off...

Hey guys.

It was great. I enjoyed meeting almost everyone, and seeing some Ts that are very rare.

I walked away with about 30 Ts I won on the auction and another 20 that guys brought me that I have ordered beforehand.

Positive:

  • There was actually a great interest in the hobby.
  • Lots of people showed up.
  • And it was kept professional for what I could see.

Negative:

  • Payment was a bit slow.
  • I think there was too little representatives at the viewing tables, which could have been the reason for theft.
  • Some of the tubs where the slings were in, wasn't labelled or marked what it was.
  • The raffle drawing should have taken place right after the auction, while everyone was present.

Solution:

  • More representatives at tables to oversee Ts.
  • Representatives to give a bit of advice to the newbies in the hobby.
  • PLEASE MARK THE TUBS NEXT TIME, what T is in it? (I'm sitting with 7 tubs, no name, don't know what T is in it, because it's the same kind of tubs. I will have to wait it out for the next molting to see what T's it is.)
  • Maybe a computer based program, to allocate the T's to it's winning bidder etc. This will make things lot faster and easier. I will even sponsor a printer and a laptop for the day, to make a printout for every winner of his/her winnings.

Other than this, I cant think of anything. It was all in all awesome. Got a few Ts to add to my collection. Cant wait for the next auction!!!

"God said it, we believe it, that settles it!!!"

This is why we should never take anything as the final result and set fact, but always be open to possibilities...this is where the adventure of discovery and connection between reality and the fantasy world lie.~ "Henry Howard Jnr"...

Was a great first auction, big up to Echodive for giving me transport :D

It really is a downer that some people find it necessary to take what isn't theirs.

I look forward to the next 1, was good to put faces to some names.
