Yes there were negatives but in all honesty, nothing could have taken the fun out of the day, it was brilliant! Ooooh we had to wait in a que to pay for the tarantulas while we chat to awesome people interested in the hobby, the horror!

Lol next time I won't wear a 'go to hell' shirt to an auction in a church...poor choice that was. But thank you all, what a fab day.

Auction was awesome! Thanks to all that made it happen and nice meeting more people.

Definitely have more people help out next time, poor ceratogyrus was running around labeling t's :)

Rather close off T room and allow limited number of persons in at a time.
Definitely computer controlling bids as easy as a spreadsheet then sort by bidder number B)

Lastly group all the same species so there is 1 auction per species. I think a few people got upset when they got a B. smithi for R250 and then later on others got one for R150... just an example.

Was'nt there a baboon spider talk as well? Alot of people where asking about it.

Well done Scarab and Fangs. You pulled it off and it seems the auction had more than double the people this year!

Need to have more functions in the year :cheer:

And thanks to all who supported the forum by purchasing a calendar! Hope you are enjoying them :)

Delays with paying aside, I really think it was a huge success.
Not having been to last years auction, really didn't know what to expect, must say, myself and my girlfriend really enjoyed it and ended up spending more than what was originally budgeted for... :cheer:

Thank you to all who made it such a huge success, and put my name on the list as volunteer for the next one.

thanks everyone.

I had a great time, and I'm really chuffed with the spiders I managed to get my hands on. The GBB is extremely calm, and has already taken part in an impromptu photoshoot chilling in my hand.

It was nice to meet some of the guys from the forum. Scarab, you really didn't fit the mental image i had of you. LOL! I was expecting a short, balding, bespectacled old geyser. How wrong I was ;-)

It was also nice chatting to Dimitri, and I'm quite keen on one of those calendars. I would have bought one there if I hadn't spent all my money.
