Regeneration of autotomized limb

So if I get it correctly, the new limb forms under the current exoskeleton, neatly folded, and as soon as the T molts, the new limb is unfolded and filled up again?

I think what they're asking is, considering the limb is missing, there can't be a new one growing underneath and it's always quite surprising how long a regenerated limb is first off. Where under the exoskeleton does so much missing limb sit?
You can take an Aphonopelma to crickets but you can't make it eat!
