Sad that you feel that way but its your prerogative.

I do agree experience is learnt by doing. But you also revived help... if by reading or asking.

I just think that if there are pit falls to breeding a certain species and you know about it you should share it.

@ onyx.
By losing a sac he is not wasting money.

Saving a spider is a lot different to breeding one. :) Bad example.

Everyone has a different opinion on what is expensive. I may be willing to pay R300 for a metallica. If someone is selling metallicas for R1200 is he ripping people off? Who gets to decide what a fair price is?

Like I just said, maybe I am selfish, but I think that if I have figured out how to breed a rare spider, I have the right to decide what I do with my intellectal property. If that makes me selfish then so be it.
Put a reminder on your phone/outlook to chat about this again in 2 years time and we will see if you still feel the same. Maybe you do, maybe you won't?
Take a look at the first sentence in my signature. There is no rush, you still have lots of years to experiment. :)

I recieved very little help when I first started. Talkenlate (Arachnoboards) and Patrick Gildenhuys helped me out where they could, but also didn't have lots of experience at that stage and everything was based on breeding in the Northern hemisphere. Most of what I have learnt about breeding pokies has been from trial and error over 3 years and I have achieved a lot more from my failures than if I had just had everything thrown on my lap. It has given me a greater understanding of pokies.
Basically, its a learning curve. There is no rush. Make mistakes, learn lessons. You are not a fly by night keeper. Earn your stripes. :)

@ Onyx: THE NAKED TRUTH!!!!

Every breeder has the right to be SELFISH!! One must keep in mind the tremendous amount of time spent, endless nurturing, the failures and the expense! When I saw this thread I knew this was going to be a tough one!

And I must agree, Cerat, Scarab, Mammon & Hendrisj have been very helpful with sharing breeding info.
