1. You would have to apply for a keeping permit for the 3 darlingi's. Then you would have to apply for a transport permit (To get the spiders from another permit holder in Gauteng or to transport them in Gauteng). If you are not getting the spiders from a permit holder, then you will need to apply for a collecting permit to catch the spiders. This will have to be an application to Limpopo, KZN, Mpmalanga, etc as darlingi is not from Gauteng.
2. Yes you can. You will either have to get a letter from the permit holder to say that he is donating the spiders to you or else you will have to motivate why you should be allowed to collect the spiders from the wild if you are applying for a collecting permit. Along with your application forms of course.
3. It is around R50 per permit as far as I remember.
4. The usual R50 needs to be paid yearly for the permit renewal.

For interest sake does anyone or anyone know anyone that has permits in KZN? would love to go look at some local baboons!

Ko7, I have seen a few Local Baboons 'round the Sodwana area. There am a few outside a Spaza shop just as you head out from Josini, heading East. I is somewhat intoxicated at the time, but there am a few Local Baboons in the St Lucia area also, patrolling the beaches. If you really want to go out of your way, Local Baboons can be found near Hole in the Wall, just East of Losikisiki in the former Transkei, now only known as the former Transkei...

Thanks for the tips! I actually live 25km from St. Lucia! Most of you gents from up country are intoxicated when you are around this area, lol! I once found (2008) a baboon while doing a geotechnical investigation near the swazi border close to jozini, but unfortunately i wasn't phased and only took a pic cause it was one huge ass spider! wish i knew more.

Do you get local baboons in the low veld (is it the low veld?) of kzn? going hunting for a week on a game farm near Escort, hoped to track some Baboons there.

If you do go out looking for some, please don't dig out any burrows. Pretty much a death sentence in that case.
