To make matters even worse one of the slings I bought died whilst moulting, not a happy chap to say the least.

I also made contact with the guy who sold the slings to Anne Marie and Machiel and he is adamant insisting that the slings are T blondi slings. He also said that his cousin has 2 mature females and 3 males, one of them mature and that they also bred earlier in the year. He sold 8 to Machiel and Anne Marie and is 100% sure that they are T blondi slings.....

So disappointing that something like this can happen in the hobby....

They most definitely are NOT Theraposa's

People that know nothing about spiders should rather just leave it...

The same goes for Machiel and Anne-marie

If you don't do your research you will get burned shouting

I am by no means a tarantula expert but have been collecting for some time now and am NOT one of those "People that know nothing about spiders" and "should rather just leave it..."

I bought the slings on good faith that they were T blondi"s and as I live in Pmb I asked a friend to pick them up for me and bring them down with him this w-end. As he is a novice collector he didn't suspect that they weren't T blond slings and only once he sent a pic did I become suspicious.

I agree that Machiel and Anne-Marie should have done their homework before buying the slings and reselling them on as T blondi's but it's what I expected them to do being tarantula traders.

I myself have learnt another lesson and that is not to trust anyone in this hobby as this is not the first time something dishonest has happened to me. I've had numerous T's sent to me being advertised as male or female and turning out to be the opposite and this issue tops them all.

Sorry NZOU my post was not directed at you ;)

It was directed at all these re-sellers out there that is only in the hobby for the money and does not know or care to know jack sh@t about spiders. Its because of their lack of knowledge that this type of situation exists and continues to plague the hobby sad

As a rule sellers that doesn't know the scientific names of the stock they're selling should not be trusted ;)
