Although there are those who will disagree, I have found that the genus Avicularia experiences inordinately higher losses immediately after shipping, and especially if they are babies. While this will not prevent all deaths (if they were beat up too badly, there is nothing you can do to save them), it should reduce the mortality rate a lot.

They are around a year and a half old. Had them since 2nd instar and they are now around 7cm.
Yes, that is the only vent. I find it best not to mess with avics. I just leave them alone on the shelve, feed them once every two weeks or so and mist them once very few months.
