@HS - How about adding some pics to explain your post better. I am trying to understand but not quite getting it.

Well i'm flattered that people some how think my opinion on this matters but really my opinions are no more or less important than anyone elses on the forum.

To my knowledge there is only 3 ways that are accurate.
1. Examining a shed skin.
2. If the spider is holding a sac then it is female.
3. If it has palpal bulbs it is a male.

Less accurate ways -

The presence or absense of epiandrous fussilae.
The width of the epigynal plate & angle of the anterior book lungs.
Running a finger over the epigastric furrow to feel for a bump (if present then female)

Even less accurate ways -
Chelicerae size
Body size
Leg length and thickness

There are probably a few others i've missed as well but I tend to rely on my memory and my limited experience rather than google ;)

Now if you have found a fool proof way that hasn't already been mentioned then i'd suggest writing an article on it and sending it to a hobby publication such as the BTS, ATS etc. That way you will soon find out if it is fool proof or not. However until you provide evidence I shall remain scepticle and stick with the first three methods I mentioned.

Good morning all.

Lol never did I say its fool proof. But the only way you could sex a T in the shop or where ever with out a molt.

And Duke and HS is right I was referring to the fusilla spinnerets found only on males. It is accurate if you know what you are looking for. On smaller T's magnification might be needed.

My point is this... We need a document or library section on the forum. As HS said this was on a post a while back but who is going to join the forum and read every single post ever made.

Im going to make a statement, and there are a lot of other users that feel the same way but wont say anything so I will.

There are some users on the forum with a god complex and it is damn annoying. I don't know everything and I don't pretend to. Im not a breeder and that is purely by choice, Been there done that. This forum is amazing and I am here every day learning and taking in new information. I think this public slamming of other users is bullshit to say the least. If someone makes a mistake its not necessary to have an attitude and gang up on "lesser members".

There are other members that I greatly respect for there wisdom and what they bring to the hobby. They don't have god complexes and are actually helpful. The Duke is always willing to help and doesn't pretend to know everything, but I know he knows more than all of us put together.
Cascade is ever helpful and always adds to the hobby.HS knows a lot more than he would like to admit and when ever he post I read it and take it in. Scarab... well some say he spins a hammock before he goes to sleep at night. Bonzai is a fountain of wisdom.

No offense, but if its not full proof then whats the point???
You might as well sex it with a coin flip then?
If anyone were to try sell me a female spider sexed via ventral sexing, I would buy it as unsexed. It is not accurate, so its not a viable sexing method.
I will show you some spiders that I guarantee you will not be able to sex via ventral sexing.

I feel like I have lost 10 minutes of my life for participating in the guessing game. :(

Just my 2 cents.....

When someone says something that is incorrect and someone else corrects you, it is not being rude. If your wrong, your wrong. Someone must help you right. Isnt that why we all are here? To learn?
I’ve seen many fights on the forum start in this way. Members mustn’t take everything as an attack or as personal.

This is not aimed at anyone, its just my opinion.

Life is not measured by how many breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

I'll put 5c behind that statement. :)
How else are you going to learn, other than by being corrected?

I still feel that if you don't know the answer to a question, rather wait for someone who knows the answer to chime in.
