Its rather simple to be honest. I have a few methods but in the end, she will always get something out of it.

1. Tell her you won it in a competition on the website or facebook (This has worked once so far)
2. Tell her you buying only a little cheap one for R50 cause its on special, if she agrees then buy 3-4 and tell her you got given the other 2 for free cause its the 2nd time you've bought from the seller and he has too many to sell.
3. Tell her you organised a breeding loan for someone and you getting your slings. Don't think she'll know the difference in names
4. Buy one and hide it at the back so she doesn't notice it and the next time she says you can buy one just use one of the above

These have worked for me, my wife is convinced i've spent +-R1000 on tarantulas but its closer to R2500 so far

Also on a side note, whatever i buy and she says yes, she tends to get new curtains or random crap and i have to pay for it
