Ja same i got 4 x p.regalis slings 4cm wondering if they males. This really sucks! If its true.

I can understand your concern, but personally I don't worry to much about this.

I am talking under correction here, but please help me right if I am wrong.

I feel the breeder will loose more by hiding the females than what he can gain by selling the males of as unsexed. I have never in the time I have been keeping T's seen or even heard of 2cm sexed slings. I normally buy smaller than that so I don't worry to much as I know there is a 50/50 change for a male or female.

If that same breeder that sells a 4-5cm unsexed T, also advertised 4-5cm females, I would think that something is wrong. I would rather sell the females and make my money than trying to fool people with selling males off as unsexed.

To me this whole thing just doesn't make sense at all.

What does the breeders on this forum think about it.

I had a thought on this subject.
From what I understand, females grow slower than males. Perhaps when picking your slings (at a petshop or whatever) you might select the biggest slings, for whatever reason, which turn out to be male.

Now I have had MANY males spiders and bought them unsexed from very reputable breeders, so can't say that I picked the "bigger" ones or that they would blatantly only sell me males. For example, the 2 P cambridgei slings I bought last year, one is male and the other is female.

I reckon the 2 B albopilosum (of the 3) that is male was because when I bought them, we (myself and the store assistant) specifically picked the biggest 2 we could find, opened about 30 containers to check each ones size.

I have to say that I agree with Phantom and Spinnekop. I hear all the opinions but I think what we need is for someone to say sexing slings is done YES or NO. Everyone is speculating and nothing is based on facts. I’m sure if some breeder could give their views on this it will put everyone's mind at ease.

well if this is the case, name.. shame... blame, and they wont be breeders for much longer! Fooling people into buying your livestock is a criminal offence, as the topic states, if its unsexed...it should be!
