Pokies, from what I understand, tend to have a higher male:female ratio than some other species.

If you only bought 2, I would say yes, then you might have 2 males. But out of 4, you should have a female.

But then again, luck is a weird thing

Breeding is a weird thing, you can't do it with just females, so at some point someone might have a need for a male. I had someone offer to swop my one P cambridgei male for a female (I thought I have 2 males). So it is possible to maybe swop later on as well.

Any breeder that claims that he sexes all its slings at a size of 1-2cm is talking bull. Formal sexing is not possible at that size. Informal sexing might be tried by breeders... That is based on an assumption that males will grow bigger (or appear larger in size) than females after molts IF the exact same conditions were met for all the slings coming from the SAME eggsac, e.g. temperature, food, environment, etc. Breeders might sell the bigger babies first in order to increase the number of possible females left in the same batch. But then again, THIS METHOD IS NOT FOOL PROOF! I think it is more of an "intelligent guess"...

It just sucks because im a uni student and to buy a pokie is super expensive, I bleed every time i buy 1 lol but is worth it if u get a female

Ask the breeder. There is no one here that could answer that question for you without lying.

I'm agreeing with DocMorrie on this one keeping the smaller slings in hoping they females is not fool proof. From a batch of B. vagans I bred I kept 6 largest and 6 smallest slings. If only been able to sex 2 of the larger slings at 5cm and they both girls.

One more thing. Dont assume that males grow faster than females. I have bred a few species and keep babies back, and the females have outgrown the males easily a few times.
