Albops are being bred in the Uk by, it seems, everyone and their uncle and OBT's are quickly going the same way. At the last BTS expo, OBT slings were going for £1.00 each (13 SAR ?)
Its getting almost stupid now cos you can just about give them away.
I bought some a few months ago for £0.25p EACH (3.25 SAR)
I took 40 from him but the last i heard he was thinking of using them as feeders.

I sold 420 curlies in a week ;)

Unluckily the other 100+ met an unfortunate incubator accident :( but they had homes as well.

Unfortunately I sold them at R2 each.

In my opinion its too much effort breeding anything and having to sell them for that cheap.

I propably won't breed them again any time soon.

But on the positive side the money I got from that is paying for 2 new enclosures :cheer:

Here's my 2c worth.. lol

Being a newbie (and in today's economy) paying like R300 for a sling is a lot! If the prices do come down - i'm pretty sure there would be a LOT more people interested in keeping T's! Especially in areas other than Gauteng - (we still have to pay the postmen :pinch: - that could be another T! (or 35 T's if you buy Creators B.albopilosa's.. )

And the school idea would be really cool - (as long as they not going to disect them :( - not cool!)

So thanks to you breeders who are willing to sell slings cheap! Makes me just want more!!! :silly:

If the market is flooded, where are they at good prices? Also as a newbie I cannot pay the prices that some T's go for and are currently hanging around in the cheaper T range. With business it is easy. If you have lots, sell at a good price to get rid of the item but in the process still make money instead of keeping the price high and you are sitting with the stock.
If the prices are good I will buy.

That is why I am a collector and not a breeder. ;)

Isn't there some way to encourage breeders and potential breeders to keep an eye on what is currently being bred? Possibly we could keep a single thread where everyone could just add a single post to say what they're currently breeding.
