Wouldn't it be easier to take DNA samples?

It would be, but if i remember what Stan mentioned about DNA testing in regards to the Subfusca confusion,
but what I do remember is that DNA testing take years if at all, as you need a few specimens and a few other
thing i cant remember too well, but the bottom line was that its a big waste of time to send them overseas
for DNA testing. sad

Not quite. This will be an upcoming project as well as we might team up with Nature Conservation and help collect males from everyone to start our DNA barcode project. They have succeded to identify and unlock the barcode but some have doubts if the gene is correct!

I will be posting a notice soon regarding collecting males from everyone willing to donate so we can start the DNA project :rock

But it would take even longer to test it out this way, it will take many years as you have to allow for all the variable that could make a female not drop a sack. You basically have to keep trying until you can say without a doubt that they are not the same species, even then there will be a lot of skeptics. DNA testing is definitely the most reliable way to test, I can understand how testing what spiders can breed with each other may help but it's not a viable way to gene test.

Yeah, but do you have any idea how expensive DNA Testing might become with all the tarantulas that would need to be tested. And, if I understand it, DNA testing with Tarantulas is very difficult as you might end up killing it due to their lack of blood clotting abilities. I think DNA Testing along with the hybrid testing could go hand in hand, as there would be a lot of evidence then.

Just so everyone is clear where im coming from, im on the fence when it comes to hybridizing
but im arguing against the majority for my selfish reasons and partly in the name of science for my
hobby :starwars:
