I thought they test DNA from the Ts molt? You say it's expensive and difficult, but it cant be more expensive and difficult than breeding the same 2 spiders over and over again until you get a clear result. I agree it could help, but not much.

Watch and learn people. Watch out for the notice and get your old males ready for delivery. I will be collecting from everyone on behalf of Nature Conservation.

Yeah, but you only have to buy a Pair once, and you only need to produce one batch of siblings to prove that the parents both belong in the same Genus.

Another way to think about this hybrid thing is..........money. Have any of you seen the Super Expensive Python Morphs? Some go for close to a million for a pretty snake, now if someone thought "Hmmm, let me breed P. mettalica to P. subfusca for one or two generations and then sell the P. mettalusca slings with White bodies and blue legs". However, this probably will not go down to well because, as mentioned before, some burke will still sell them as something "pure" . Although, White bodied pokies with blue legs would be extremely distinctive :eyepoke: Hmmm, damn, now I want one :rock

P.S. Not saying someone must go out and breed hybrids and sell them, just that it would be a potential market if people weren't so

@ F1refly,

If you are refering to ball python, reticulated python and burmese python morphs, then i'm afriad they do not apply to this discussion as the the genetic mutation causing the pretty colours is the product of generations of inbreeding (along with the introduction of the base morphs) the same species i.e Python regius etc, they are not hybrids.

There are hybridized snakes which i also think are complete abominations. stir
