2 - B. vagans can be a pain or it can be very easy. I've had B. vagans females drop a sac within 2 months after the mating, but I have also had females drop a sac 14 months after the mating. So I would guess you'll have a sac before Christmas 2014.

3 - The tarantula hobby has not really been around long enough in SA for anyone to say, I think, but I have had big spiders die for no apparent reason. I don't believe you will ever be able to say with a female that this is her last molt or not. Big spiders just sometimes die after they were looking fine the previous day. I assume a spider that will die from old age will stop eating or slow down her eating routine and start to deteriorate or shrink and if she does not want to eat, there is not much you can do about it.
