+1 scarab. This is definately not an isolated incident. The person was on the site but has since moved out of the country.
I know its a bit of a generalisation (and its definately not all the members from there) but a few of these incidents have been from keepers in the kzn area. Those that were dishonest obviously thought they could get away with it cause they were not in the gauteng area crowd. Please just realise its not all kzn keepers.

Luckily all the people ive met with the hobby has been people I can trust or at least people that havent cheated me. But I havent been around as long as you guys and am quite isolated down in Bloem. Unfortunately we live in a world where you first have to "kyk die kat uit die boom" like we say in afr.
Hate that it has to be like that and dont see it changing soon.

I have not been through the whole new site but would highly recommended using a review section for members onsite and dealings with them. Even members off site should be reviewed to warn fellow members here.

Cera - I only know of two guys that were big in KZN. Both are now out of the hobby though. Well dunno if the one overseas is keeping, but he ain't in our SA hobby. Very sorry that these things happened to you though mate.

No need to apologise Aubz. Was my own stupidity for trusting people on the site who i thought would share the same passion for the hobby as i had. Lesson learned, so now males will stay with me.
Re the review section, there is 1 on the site. Ive always said though that people dont use it often enough. Even if you get 1 sling, or are given a freebie, put it in the review section, so that others will know. Same goes with bad reviews. If you are not happy with a deal that has concluded, and the seller isn't prepared to do anything about it. Put a review up. He has the right to defend himself/herself if he/she feels he has to.
Then just to clarify, im definately not tired of the spider keeping hobby. Been doing it for 17 years now and always will. Just sick and tired of the "public hobby". Im happy to sit at home with my spiders and close friends and continue the hobby in private.

It would really be a big blow to the local hobby if the bigger guys like you stopped sharing males. Hopefully there will be a couple guys you trust that will have the same girls as you to ensure the best chances.
Anything today that can be used to make money will be milked and abused. And some people say money does not corrupt. lol
