Personally I would think it is an issue with age, rather than a difference considering they are the same species.

When my female moults, I will take pics of her moult. :) She is "dark form". :)

We need to finally get these 2 species ("Lowland" & "Highland") to the laboratory and get some DNA to finally answer our questions... :)

You know how much that will cost????
The only way to do this accurately would be to go to the 2 localities and collect wild caught specimens.

Oh and there is only 1 species. Maybe just variations. :)
