Dimitri patterns are used because they are stable. If you draw a circle with a red pen or a green pen or any other colour it is still a circle. Colour on the other hand varies so much even during the moult cycle of a single species (A. seemanni for example) that it is useless as a taxonomic tool especially as the specimen will be placed in alcohol and end up brown anyway.

Got you, i understand and it makes sense. But you mentioned that the spermathaecea are different? Is that a concern?

Not sure busy reading it now. I assume lowland was P bara until it became synonym with P subfusca

Nope not different. Kirk says they are too primative i.e. they are all tomb stone shaped and so possess no distinguishing features between species.
